- Adjust the water temperature
You have to be very careful with the temperature of the water. If that’s possible, it’s best to have it adjusted before you bring the baby in for a bath. That way, you won’t be surprised. The above tactic, of course, does not mean that you should not control the temperature during the bath. It is important to avoid sharp temperature changes, which will upset your baby, rather than relax it.
4. Bath frequency & duration
Contrary to the opinion of many mothers, bathing should not be too frequent and should not last too long. All you have to do is bathe your baby once or twice a week. Also, the duration should be specific, about 5 minutes of the hour. The above are supported by findings, which suggest, that tap water is quite “hard” for the baby’s skin. Thus, frequent or long-term bathing can lead to skin diseases, such as atopy or seborrheic dermatitis & irritations.
5. Don’t leave your baby alone
It may seem a given to you, but due to the frenzied everyday life, it is quite possible that something will come up while you bathe your baby. at bath time, it is important not to have any commitments at home, so as not to leave the baby alone, and not to be nervous. At that time, the most important thing is to be committed and focused in order to avoid sudden and hasty movements.
6. Smart manage of tantrums
A common phenomenon is baby’s overreaction when the bath ends. Stay calm. If you have noticed that such a thing happens often, make sure to have his milk near, as in this way it will most likely be quiet. Another alternative is to distract him with some other object. After we’re done with the procedures, we remind you that even bathing can become a fun procedure for the baby. By incorporating various toys with beautiful colors, we” train ” our baby to remain calm and enjoy the bath process. This is so, because the bath is associated with beautiful stimuli, which give birth to positive emotions.
Extra tip: A bathrobe should be preferred over a towel for finishing the bathroom. It fits & keeps your baby warm, until you dress it!
